I know exactly what that’s like.
When I first started my photography business, my biggest struggle was getting clients.
I knew how to take photos, I had the gear and the techniques figured out – I even had a decent portfolio and a good looking website…
But I just COULD NOT figure out how to get more bookings!
It was a total mystery to me. Other photographers I knew seemed to be booked solid, but everything I tried seemed so inconsistent.
I tried following the advice other photographers were giving:

“Get your website ranked on google”
“Advertise on wedding wire”
“Go to bridal shows”
But no matter what I tried, I just couldn’t come up with clients consistently.
Everything felt so random. There was no way of guaranteeing how many bookings I’d get.
As I learned more, I found out most photographers struggle with the EXACT same problems.

And most of those photographers are listening to that exact same marketing advice, trying to do the exact same things you are.
How can you stand out when you’re doing the exact same things as everyone else?
Now here’s the thing – None of this marketing advice was bad advice!
Instagram is great, having a beautiful brand and getting ranked on google can definitely bring you bookings –
But what I found is that these strategies took a LONG time to see results.
On top of that, the results definitely aren’t guaranteed.
You can’t guarantee your website will rank number 1 on google. You can’t guarantee your instagram post will go viral – And even if you DO manage to make it happen, there are no guarantees it will last.
So I started looking for a system that would allow me to create leads on demand.
Some kind of approach that would allow me to put $1 in and get $3 consistently, in a way I could control.
I found a few videos on youtube from marketing gurus raving about Facebook ads, so I gave them a try.
I signed up for an ads account and budgeted $100. After messing around for a couple of hours trying to figure out how the heck the ad manager worked, I managed to put a couple ads together and hit “publish”
… $100 later, it produced ZERO leads and ZERO results.
I figured facebook ads might work for other businesses, but definitely didn’t work for photography.
I went back to doing things the hard way – Working on my instagram, “building my brand”, trying to get my website on google search…
And then one day I came across another video from this guy named Sam Ovens talking about Facebook marketing.
At first I thought he was going to give me the same advice I’d heard before:“Create your ads, activate your pixel, watch the money pour in” blah blah blah
But instead, he talked about a different strategy I’d never considered.
Rather than just creating random ads and leaving it all to chance, Sam said I needed to treat facebook like a laboratory experiment. I needed to approach my business and my marketing by looking at the data, testing all the variables and creating a system that would guarantee success by leaving nothing to chance. When I did that, I’d be able to create as many leads as I wanted, whenever I wanted.
