Content velocity is a term that’s used a lot these days. It refers to a strategy that involves producing lots of content quickly so you can climb the rankings, increase visibility, and earn more subscribers and followers.
For content creators, adopting this strategy isn’t exactly welcome news. Creating valuable, engaging content takes time and effort. Without major resources, it’s tough to achieve the content velocity that search engines and social platforms demand.
But there are ways to publish more content without working around the clock or churning out AI garbage.
We’ve got a few expert tips below on how to produce more articles, social media posts, and videos without spending extra time or money.
Use AI Resources
I know I just took a jab at AI above, but regardless of its faults, AI also has its benefits. When used correctly, AI enables you to double or triple your content output without a drop in quality.
When creating AI-written content or videos, the key is to prompt bit by bit (as opposed to generating entire articles/videos at once) to maintain human control over the output. Then, do human edits afterward.
To create articles, a ChatGPT Plus subscription is all you need ($20 a month). For creating AI videos, I recommend Runway. It takes some time to learn, but it’s one of the most versatile AI video creation tools. Plus, you can try it for free.
For AI images, use Midjourney. You can also use OpenAI’s DALL-E as part of your ChatGPT Plus subscription, but Midjourney is currently the most advanced image generator. It’ll run you about $8 a month.
Use Stock Media
Stock media is a lifesaver when it comes to creating more content, especially when making video content for social media. Without it, it’s nearly impossible to create enough unique content to satisfy the demands of social media audiences.
Even if you only maintain accounts on the largest platforms, you’ll need to create around 15+ posts per week to stay relevant. If you’re a business, it could be triple that.
Using stock media, you can build a library of high-quality videos, audio, and images to use in your posts today and in the future. Supplementing your original content with stock media can save you hours of work per day. And, there are lots of free videos available if you’re on a budget.
Tweak and Repost Content
Some people avoid reposting older content because they feel like their audience will react negatively, but this isn’t the case. Reposting high-quality content gives new followers/subscribers the chance to engage, and it reminds your long-time fans of your greatest hits.
You can easily repost old content on platforms like Facebook by clicking Share. But sometimes it’s good to spruce it up a bit so you’re not reposting the exact same thing. I’ll often drop videos back into the editor and add new music or switch After Effects templates to give my content a makeover.
It only takes a few minutes, and it boosts the potential for engagement.
Encourage User Generated Content
Your audience wants to interact with you, so why not let them—and get some free content in the process? User-generated content (UGC) costs you nothing, and it’s some of the most valuable content you can get.
UGC builds trust through social proof. And, it improves loyalty to your brand through unique interactions.
One easy way to jump-start UGC is to run a contest. Ask your audience to submit videos in exchange for a chance to win something. Just make sure to follow through!
Also, it’s crucial to view each piece of UGC before posting it. Don’t let fans post their content freely. You need to maintain control over your online presence.
More Content, Less Time (and Money)
Creating high-quality content takes effort. But that doesn’t mean you can’t streamline the process to be more efficient. Using the latest tools and the tips on this list, you can double your content output (at least) without spending more time or money.
If you’re not familiar with AI, stock media, and UGC, it’s time to refine your content strategy and improve your content velocity.
